Reuben Dotson b. 1765

Reuben Dotson is my 7th Great-Grandfather he was born around 1765, not certain as to where. According to the Johnson Co. Heritage book he lived his entire life in the same home (see note below)

Johnson County Heritage Book Volume 1:

Ruben (1765-1/28/1869) lived his life of 104 yrs. in the same house. His home was near Bulldog Road, Trade, Tennessee. He was, therefore, a resident of the Colony of North Carolina, the state of North Carolina, the short-lived state of Franklin, and the state of Tennessee. He and his wife Sarah Green Dotson had ten children. Ruben was a farmer.

The passage indicated that Reuben had 10 children, but according to census records there should have been more. I have 12, but not all confirmed.

The descendants of William E. "Billy" Dotson born Jan. 10, 1801 have information that states he was adopted by Reuben.

No marriage record has been found, but estimated marriage is to Sarah is 1803.

The father of Reuben has not to my knowledge been proven, most sources show Charles as the father. I was told by a descendant that was raised in Trade, TN that it was George and Elizabeth. George did leave a will in Carter, Co. TN but no mention of children only his wife Elizabeth.

My challenge is trying to prove the father of Reuben, as well of several others and confirm all of the children.
